Family Vacation

Chichen-Itza, Yucatan Pennisula, Mexico:

For my little sister's graduation, my mom and I packed up and we all went to the Mayan Ruins. This is Jina in the court where they played "Womp-womp" (or something like that), which is the early form basketball. The name (whatever it is) came from the sound that the ball of sap made when it hit the rock walls that line the field.

Our guide was very informative and funny. He is the one in the background with the funny hat.

Me:

Here we are in front of what was the Observatory. Like mother like daughters (big cheesy grin). Aren't we the typical tourists!?!

Here are a few other snapshots:

If you can take a closer look at this one, you can see through the trees another ruin in the distance.

WOW!

That our paths had crossed when the children and I went through our Mayan studies . . .GREAT pics of the things we've discussed, and only seen pics of in textbooks.

Way cool! ;)

that's neat. When was this again? My wife was down there. She went to H.S. and College in Merida, Yucatan, MX and has been to several ruins.
