Chichen-Itza, Yucatan Pennisula, Mexico:For my little sister's graduation, my mom and I packed up and we all went to the Mayan Ruins. This is Jina in the court where they played "Womp-womp" (or something like that), which is the early form basketball. The name (whatever it is) came from the sound that the ball of sap made when it hit the rock walls that line the field.
Our guide was very informative and funny. He is the one in the background with the funny hat.

That our paths had crossed when the children and I went through our Mayan studies . . .GREAT pics of the things we've discussed, and only seen pics of in textbooks.

that's neat. When was this again? My wife was down there. She went to H.S. and College in Merida, Yucatan, MX and has been to several ruins.
